WBNA’s Halloween Extravaganza Takes Over Dexter Park

On October 26, West Broadway Neighborhood Association (WBNA) turns Dexter Training Ground Park into a field of frights for their third annual Halloween Extravaganza! The all-ages event is a collaboration with transitional youth housing organization Haus of Codec and Moniker Brewery to celebrate the season with fun activities and bring neighbors together – as WBNA strives to do in all of their programming.

What was once a homeowners association is now a community-centered organization – formed by neighbors for neighbors. “Since 1983, WBNA has been bringing neighbors in our diverse and dynamic community together around important issues, offering resources, spearheading projects that enhance the quality of life in our neighborhood, and creating opportunities for neighbors to gather, support, and learn from one another,” explains executive director Siobhan Callahan.

Through programs and free events, advocacy, collaboration, and projects carried out by neighbors, WBNA enables community members to forge connections and showcase all that this special corner of the city has to offer.

All are invited to the Halloween Extravaganza, which promises a full day of fun with live music from local bands, a costume contest and parade, a Boooze Garden pouring craft beers, spooky mini-golf, the Fam Jam bike ride, an artist marketplace boasting the unique wares of Providence makers, food trucks, and Pneuhaus’ eerily glowing inflatable sculptures. Stick around to hear the PVD Drum Troupe, DJ music, and a drag show in the early evening.

“Show off your creativity for a chance to win a prize at the costume contest, buy some locally made art, enjoy drinks from our neighborhood brewery, play a round of mini-golf, or just enjoy the day and getting to be a part of our community,” encourages Callahan.

Learn more about West Broadway Neighborhood Association at WBNA.org, and catch the Halloween Extravaganza on Saturday, October 26, from 12-7pm, with a rain date of October 27.
