Hit the Road for The Art Drive Exploring South Coast Massachusetts
Just over the Rhode Island border, the picturesque towns of Westport and Dartmouth, MA offer a scenic trip filled with architectural gems and stunning landscapes. This charming backdrop hosts The Art Drive, a unique self-guided studio tour happening August 2-4, featuring the works of premier local artists.
Highlighting professional creations from painters, ceramicists, photographers, jewelers, fiber artists, woodworkers, and metal artists, The Art Drive is an opportunity for visitors from New England and beyond to experience the artistic heritage of Massachusetts' south coast. Artist Heidi Eastman describes the event as “a comprehensive, organic experience,” offering behind-the-scenes glimpses into working artists’ studios and showcasing the area's natural beauty, including stunning vistas where farms meet the sea, stone walls, and quiet wooded areas.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can engage with artists, ask questions, and watch as new ideas and works take shape. Talks and presentations cover a range of topics, from ceramics and textiles to oil painting and children’s book illustrations, inspiring attendees to explore their own creative processes.
“The Art Drive fosters relationships between the artistic community and the community at large,” says Eastman. The event strengthens bonds between artists, patrons, businesses, and the natural world, making it a must-see for art enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Read more online at HeyRhody.com.
